Turning on the heat.

This weekend we had a n'easter here on the east coast, with cold wind and chilly rain! Perfect if you are a husky, but our mom didn't like it very much and decided to close the windows and turn on the heat in the house for the first time this year. Doesn't she know that cold, chilly breezes are the best, inside and out?!

"It's so hot in here Nala, what can we do
about it? I'm burning up in this poofy fur coat!"

"All we can do Kiki is have a nice long snooze
and dream about snow. Zzzzzzzz."

Where is it?

Kiki here! I had an adventure today! Mom and I went to the state park near us for a big walk...it was a lovely autumn day, cool and crisp. But what's missing is Fall's pretty colored leaves! They are slow in coming here on the east coast. But we had a fun walk anyway, and maybe it will be prettier next week (so we can go walk here again!)

I was walking down the trail
and I saw something CRAZY!
An odd forest creature that I've never seen before!
Then I remembered that this park has ART!
Then, a mile or so down the trail there is a lovely stream
to cool off in!
Is this a great day or what! And I walked 5 miles!
I hope I lose a pound or two to make mom happy!

Oh no!

Kiki here! A few days ago I had a VERY bad day. It was time for my yearly checkup with the vet and the news was not good. Thankfully I had Deliah along with me to help me cope, though she had some problems of her own!

"Deliah, I'm worried about my check up
and all the shots I will need to get!"
"I've got a terrible cough and I know there
is a shot in my future, too Kiki!"
"I know you need some comfort Deliah,
but I think you are pushing it just a little!"

Anyway, Deliah did get a shot for her cough (and is feeling much better). I got bad news...I gained 7 pounds last year! For even me, that is a far too much! Mom feels terrible, as she probably under exercised me because she was walking Nala and me together up until a few months ago. So now I am on a diet---oh no--and am getting bigger walks---yay! Lets see if I can get a few pounds off now that it is cooler and my walks can be longer!

Serenading the Street!

Nala here! I am an old gal that can't go very far anymore, but don't worry—I have a good time close to home! Every day, I go down to the end of our street to sing and bark for all to hear! Lots of folks come and say hello to me, as after 17 years, I am kind of a neighborhood fixture! (And I'm not that loud!)

Okay! Time to let everyone know I am here!
Hoooooooowwwwwl!
Hehe, that was a good one! Very loud!

Not all wet!

Kiki here! We had a such a nice weekend—with finally, no rain in the forecast—so Mom and I paid a visit to our friend Agnes at her new house in the suburbs! (Nala had to stay home, as a long car ride is a little too hard on her old bones.) We saw the new house and then we took a walk with Agnes and her mom on one of the many walking paths that led to a LAKE! WooHoo! Time for a swim!

Ahhh, so refreshing!
First I swam this way...
...and then I swam that way,
and I never even get my poofy tail wet!
My friend Kiki is so weird.

Happy Autumn!

We hope all our blogging friends are happy about the new season! It has been so rainy around here that we have had a hard time getting our pictures taken with mom holding the leash and the umbrella---so here are a few photos from a few days ago taken when the sun was out!

Here I am looking for one of
my many friends to say hello to!
And here I am, looking
for my favorite delicious grass to snack on!

Out to the ballgame!

Kiki here! Our baseball team, the Orioles, are having a terrible season and no one is coming to the games so since the season is already going to the dogs, they figured, why not invite the dogs! So my mom, and a few friends and ME went to the game!

They had a special section for dogs and their
people. Now where is the hot dog vendor?
The Bird was there and I wasn't scared, even
though it was the biggest bird I've ever seen!
How thoughtful! A special gate just for us
K9s to take a little break to cool off!
I've got my water and a great view! Play Ball!
(Now if I could just score that hot dog!)

Unfortunately, the O's lost again. Maybe they were distracted from all the barking! But I made it onto the jumbotron twice because the cameraman had a little crush on me! (Who could blame him...) It was a very special night!
