Heat wave!

It's SO HOT! We are in our hole to try
and stay cool, but it's not working!

In a minute, Mom will make us
come indoors to the AC.

Not me! Here's my solution---
dig a deeper hole!

Redford continues to do better, he is having his last (hopefully) dental surgery this week to have the splint in his mouth removed and to have another tooth extracted. It has been a very long haul and we will be happy when this is all over. Thanks for everyone's good wishes for my sweet boy Redford.

Doing OK!

Just to let my friends know that
I am OK, and still able to dig holes in
the backyard even with this big ol' cone!

You do you Redford,
I am happy to be comfy in
my chair while you dig!

Redford is recovering well from his injuries but the cone has to stay on most of the time---he has his follow-up surgery to remove the splint in his mouth at the end of June, so hopefully by July we can ditch the cone of shame!

Sharing a story.

I have to share of what happened to Redford on Memorial day---we were walking in the park where we live and Redford was attacked by a pit bull that had gotten away from the owner. Thankfully Rosie was home so she was not involved. The owner finally got control of the dog, but not after it had done big damage to Redford, mostly to his jaw and mouth. The owner gave me a FAKE name and phone number, but only by the quick thinking of a neighbor who got some photos of the owner and dog, we were able to identify the owner via posting on social media.

Redford had to spend 2 days and nights at the Pet ER and then was transferred to a canine dental specialist for surgery to repair his jaw and teeth. He is home now, with a splint in his mouth and he will need at least one more surgery. Getting all this care paid for by the responsible party will be a long process.

He is doing ok, not liking the cone that must stay on and not liking the mush I have to feed him, and he wants some treats too, which he cannot have! He's on 14 pills a day for pain and prevention of infection. Poor Redford. But at least he will recover and for that I am grateful.

I will spare you the gross photos of the
inside of his mouth, but this is him
and the mouth injury at the ER. (Darn
huskies smile through everything!)

Sleeping with Lambchop helps!

But sleeping with Rosie is better!
