I am always amazed at how my huskies can tell time, every day, at 5 PM
they gather around the door of my home office and start to whine. I could set a clock by it!

Of course we dogs can tell the time. How is that so surprising to humans? Gail tells me her first dog, Hamish the Westie, used to attend a German conversation class with her, scheduled from 7 to 8:30 pm on Tuesday evenings. He would lie under the table quietly until 8:29 pm precisely, whereupon he would start to bark. The German teacher used to call him "unsere Wecker", which means "our alarm clock" in German!
